Holy Innocents School-Haiti 2023 Scholarship Program
For almost 40 years, St. Paul’s has been connected to the Holy Innocents community in Port de Paix, Haiti. Forged with love, respect and God’s spirit, this relationship has brought incredible joy to our communities.
Despite being plagued with disastrous weather events (earthquakes and hurricanes), and civil and political unrest, the Holy Innocents school continues to be one of the finest schools in Haiti. Economic instability and high unemployment have resulted in many families being unable to pay Holy Innocents’ annual school tuition of $250. Ten percent of the current student population of 1,116 needs support to attend Holy Innocents for the 2023-2024 school year.
With the blessing of Father Wilky Avril, Holy Innocents parish priest, St. Paul’s has established a scholarship program to assist Holy Innocents students and families who have been affected by Haiti’s instability.
The scholarship program will build upon previous scholarship efforts and will supplement the annual Outreach Committee donation to the Holy Innocents community. The program has been established with a $1,000 donation from a St. Paul’s family. Our hope is to fund the scholarship program for the 2023-2024 school year and beyond as funds permit. Anonymous or named donations in any amount are welcome, and each $250 raised will fund one student for a school year.
