Rector's Reflection: Here I am, Lord. Send me.
Dear Friends,
In a couple weeks, you will hear from our stewardship committee asking you to discern the level of financial support you can offer our church in 2022, and I hope you will begin to think and pray on that now. St. Paul's runs on your love, your presence, your ideas, your prayers, and your generosity.
It also runs on your willingness to minister among us in a way that enlivens your own spiritual life and serves our church, community and/or world. After all, you are the church, not the bricks and stained glass: a point that has been made quite clear during this pandemic time!
So many of you have continued to serve throughout the pandemic, on vestry and anti-racism, regathering and worship teams, and in so many other ways, often on Zoom or masked and distanced. What adaptations you have made in order to keep being God's hands in the world!!! Others have had to step back for a time, and oh how you are missed!! Though your church family understands the incredible limitations of this past year and a half.
As we think about this next season of our life together, I invite you to let us know what you might be interested in being involved in. This might mean stopping one thing to start another, or it might mean dreaming up a new ministry role, but let's start the conversation with a 5 minute survey. You can fill out as much or as little of the survey as you want, and you can let us know in the survey if you'd like a follow-up phone call. I would love to be in discernment with you about your ministry at St. Paul's.
Yours in Christ,
I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. ~Jeremiah 29:10b-11
