bog berries
bog berries looks to create music that is strange and catchy. Songs that are immediately accessible and feel good to listen to while also adding something new or exciting to the already densely packed world of indie pop. Hundreds of layers of vocals, synths, body percussion, synths, guitars, drums, woodwinds - bog berries music shifts between intimate bedroom lofi and almost over the top musical theater rock ballad rather quickly. bog berries is based out of Boston and collaborates with many different artists on all tracks making it more like a collective than a band or a single person. I hope you find a strange berry that you enjoy in this fertile bog.
Rachel Marie
Rachel Marie (she/they) follows in a tradition of unapologetically forthright women folksingers, with songs that hearken to "overstuffed lines of Tori Amos, philosophical turn of Indigo Girls, and lilting vocals like Joni Mitchell" (Victoria Farmer, The Christian Humanist Podcast). The social awareness of folk meets the introspection, catharsis, and healing of the singer-songwriter tradition. "Add in a brilliantly woven, genuine, and sometimes silly banter and Rachel’s unique show will stay with you a long time" (Tom Bianchi, 24 Hour Music). Rachel's latest full-length album, False Foundations, was released in May 2018, and a new album is in the works for 2024.

Max & Tader
Priding themselves in being collaborators in art and life, the duo consisting of Maxfield Anderson & Tader Shipley found their personal and musical homes with one another. From contrasting backgrounds in musical theater and bluegrass, the two joined forces to create a sound full of commanding harmonies, multi-instrumental finesse, and unadulterated joy. Finding influence from Rodgers & Hammerstein to Jimmie Rodgers & Hank Williams, the pair blend their love of honest storytelling into a sound uniquely their own.

Phil and the Flying Leap
Phil and the Flying Leap twists and re-imagines music across multiple genres of classic American song spanning Vaudeville to Nashville to Somerville and everywhere in-between.
Songwriter Phil Berman's melodies and lyrics usher the Great American Songbook into the 21st century, while lush arrangements and virtuosic musicianship from violinist Rachel Panitch and bassist Forrest Pettengill offer vibrant live performances full of heart, joy, and rich vocals.
The group released their debut album Play the Part in 2021. The 13-track LP wrestles with questions of work, worth, purpose, and the heart in the age of the Great Resignation, weaving together folk, jazz, musical theater, rock, and French chanson. Streaming on all platforms, people can listen on Spotify here or support and stream on Bandcamp at philandtheflyingleap.bandcamp.com.
