Pine Street Inn – Yes, we are serving again!
Saint Paul’s has been serving the women of Pine Street Inn (PSI) for over 35 years, and we are excited to have returned to serving again in August of 2022. We currently have a small group of parishioners who serve, but we are always looking for additional volunteers. More details below…
Our current serving schedule is every other month on the 2nd Sunday of the month, and our next date will be April 14th. On Sunday serving dates, we leave Natick about 4PM in order to arrive in Boston by 4:45PM. Dinner service starts at 5PM, ends at 6PM, and we arrive back in Natick before 7pm.
For those familiar with this ministry, there have been some changes since Covid, and we no longer prepare the food that we serve. I know this has been a disappointment for those that liked to shop or prepare the chop suey or salad, and unfortunately this continues to look like a permanent change. We will also only need two volunteers to serve, as opposed to the previous three. The upside to these changes is that we won’t require as large a commitment of people in order to continue to support this important ministry, and the added ease of no longer needing to pack up all the food and supplies at the parish before heading into Boston.
